This is a huge wonder to see!! You went to a lot of work it looks like. Beautiful. I think it's a treasure. You did a fantastic job. I love to just stare at it.
I love this! You have inspired me - I have my mom's sewing basket and I've displayed a bunch of the old packages - sewing items for 10¢ and 25¢! - in my craft/sewing room. Scrapbook page(s) coming up next!
This LO is surely a Wonder!!!!!!! It is super gorgeous & I mean SUPER!!!!!! I love all her items you placed on there. You always come across with beautiful pages. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fave~
Oh wow, this is awesome. What a beautiful story and tribute to your grandmother. This is so creatively scrapped. Love how you lifted and placed everything to look so 3D. Fabulously done!!
wow it's just stunning, you've put so much into it. You've done a fabulous job creating the basket and how great you could include some of her items in this. It's sad when not everyone see's the same history or memories in keeping items from a loved one.
Oh, be still my heart. This brings up such nostalgia of my mom's sewing box and all her little trinkets. I inherited her old treadle machine (which sewed my wedding dress) and her more modern machine. Every item in your layout is just perfect. What wonderful treasures you have. Thank you for sharing this lovely layout. Added to favorites and pinned!
Love this creation! It brought back a lot of memories for me too. My grandmother and mom were both seamstresses and they both taught me how to sew. I got Grandma's embroidery floss box and Mom's buttons, laces and trims when they passed on, so I know how you feel about that. They are treasures to me. I found one of Mom's re-embroidered lace packets that had never been opened and it was $.29!! Nice fussy cutting and design.
This is wonderful! I absolutely love what you did with this. It is so very tactitle and real looking. I appreciate your love for these treasures. I am sentimental too...it breaks my heart how so many people would see that box and its contents as a pile of junk...eeeww...saying that makes me shiver.
I was very lucky and grateful to inherit what I consider to be the most important items of a persons life from my grandmother when she passed away. Her sewing box, doll supplies, recipes, love letters & cards, and most of her photos! The other items were just material things that had no meaning for me. They were not the person, who they were, and how they lived thier life! No one else saw that in my family and if I had not been there most of it would have went to into the trash, or yard sale. So I have alot of stuff! Memories I call them. For this LO I choose to take some of the smalls out of her sewing box to use for page. The McCall's pattern was too thick & big so I just photo copied it. Unless it,s listed below it was all hers! I did not use the mint vintage items but I thought these items would be okay and pay homage to her. She LOVED to sew & make her own clothes. If you were lucky, she made something for you too!
I had to print two 8X10 photos on white card stock in order to build the box up enough to hold everything. I used 1/4" foam board for tha around the edges and to lift lg die frame.
