In the early 1980's, my parents and I loved to travel in the Smokey Mountains. We happened across a family owned business which sold hand painted concrete animals and gnomes. Each year we always found our way back to purchase a few more "friends". The family, who owned the business, became our adopted family, and even though their business is no longer operating - we continue to return. Our little concrete friends that we brought home with us year after year, have lived in my parents yard for more than 25 years - this past summer we touched them up and brightened their smiles...just as they have done for us over the course of time.

The top pic is me circa 1982. My daughter sits nearby, 2006. The pocket holds many individual tags of some of our individual "friends", and their descriptions.
