I just love the relationship my Dad has with my boys. These photos were from a family holiday in February this year.
Journalling reads: "Male bonding" is a term used in many different ways. But for me, it's all about role models and learning from somebody else. I am so happy that my boys have their Grandad as a major role model in their lives. They are so fortunate to have a young (hey, 52 is young!) and "with it" Grandad who has the energy and the ability to run around with them, play soccer with them, give them shoulder rides, etc. I didn't really have that when I was a kid. My Grandpa died before I was born, and my Grandad died when I was only 8 - he was 94. Anyway, I'm glad that Ethan and Tyler have so much time ahead of them to spend with their Grandad. There are many things he can teach them. Not just practical things, like how to play the guitar or fix a lawnmower, but the really important things about life. How to be humble. How to honour God. How to love other people. Those are the things I admire most about my dad, and I hope he able to pass those qualities on to my boys, so they can grow up to be really awesome men. Just like him. ~Hahei, Feb 2006.
