Elizabeth, I love the light, airy feel of this LO! Doesn't the gesso work great to achieve that....as well as the cheese cloth and your other lovely embellies! Fave for me!
Beautifully scrapped Elizabeth! What a wonderful photo. You really did it justice with all of the pretty colors and elements on the page. You did a good job with the gesso background too. : )

Well look at you girl, another amazing lo! This is so beautiful & I love your choice of colors & papers making it look so vintage. The lace is gorgeous & how you used the two pieces of cb....PERFECT! Ohhhh I am still looking...the cheese cloth in the corners a great touch, the clock face so sweet! The photo is such a treasure & I love their curly hair! Did I say WOW!!!!!:))
I so enjoyed making this layout! It seemed to come together easier than anything I've made thus far. This is my first heritage layout of this year. In the photo are Poppy and Grandma, Aunt Cleda (Mom's matron of honor), Aunt Jerry, Mom and Aunt Eva. A beautiful family photo that I cherish. It was taken in July, 1946.
On this layout I used several items from Renea Harrison's Reneabouquets.com (the lace, intricate key, spoon, gold microbeads, buttons on the cheesecloth and of course, her beautiful butterflies! The "beautiful" word stamp is from Gabrielle Pollacco's clear rubber stamp collection from The Scrapbook Diaries. The diecuts were from the Creative Memories Reminisce Accents cartridge that I cut on my Cricut and then painted with Gesso and embossed with Stampendous Shabby Pink and Shabby Blue powders. The tiny key is from Nini's Things. The pearl heart droplet and little flowers I got from Hobby Lobby in the jewelry section.
This was the first time I've smeared white on the background paper. I've loved seeing so many talented ladies use that technique. I tried using my white rubber stamp ink but it didn't show up at all, so I asked another artist what she used and she said Gesso. So, that is what I used and I love the look!
The pretty images and clock are all from Pinterest and are in my "Pleasing Printables" folder for those of you that follow me.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I am entering this in the Heritage Challenge.
