Full Worm Moon ~ March 5, 10:05 a.m. PST ~ March's full moon is the exact opposite of a super moon because the Moon will be at its farthest distance from Earth making it the smallest or micro-moon / mini-moon, full moon this year. In March, as the temperature begins to warm and the ground starts to thaw, earthworm casts begin to appear, inviting the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. March's full moon is also commonly known as the Fish Moon. The Lakota Sioux called it the ''Moon of Snow Blindness''. To the Zuni it was ''Little Sandstorm Moon''. The San Juan called it the ''Lizard Moon''. The Delaware called it the ''Moon when the Juice Drips from the Trees''.
