While we were touring in Paris we stayed at a hotel just at the end of the metro line. Every day, at the end of our day we would take the metro 'home'. We found this unassuming little bistro right by the station so we stopped in each day for a drink. These breaks were some of the best times - just watching the regulars chatting and lauging - just the same as anywhere at home. The barmaid who is in this photo was a treasure - on our 2nd visit she brought us our drinks that she had remembered from us ordering the day before. I loved the feeling that we were just part of the daily life there so I could pretend for a few minutes that I lived in Paris.
