This was "Monkey Island" in the Peruvian jungle, just across from our lodge. I had to struggle with my belief that you shouldn't feed wild animals, but it was too great of an opportunity for me to pass up! I've always loved monkeys, even wanted one when I was little so he could guard my room against my intruding big brother! lol! The guide told us that they rescued a dozen monkeys from the black market and brought them to this little island, where they live "freely" and have reproduced. (I decided to believe this story so my conscience wouldn't be too bothered... ;) Tourists come every day and provide them with treats, tiny bananas that don't grow naturally on the island and that they love! It was such a thrill for me to have these monkeys climb and sit on my shoulders!
I fussy cut the monkeys from a "Hey Boy" Basic Grey paper.
