Hello my fellow crafters!! Life has taken on a speeding path for me these past couple of years. I'm disgruntled that I have so little time to enjoy the love of scrapbooking, but I've also been planning a new adventure for myself. Last Christmas I was on vacation for a week and decided it was time to try something I've been wanting to create for a while - charm necklaces with vintage silverware. I was blessed with so many different antiques from my father's family, including vintage spoons, knives and forks. I've noticed on Pinterest and other blogs very talented ladies showcasing their designs. I thought "I can do that - I already have most of the supplies." So, during my Christmas vacation, I struck out on a new path and made some necklaces - 20 to be exact. I ordered the ball chains from a website and then just created charms of my own using beads, coins, scrapbooking supplies, fancy clip earrings bought in Canada, polished rocks/agates and of course pieces of vintage silverware from my grandmother. The necklaces turned out better than I had hoped for and I had so much fun creating them. I shared photos of the necklaces on Facebook and my very good scrappy friend Donna (dnurse on SB.com) had such sweet and encouraging words for me with the designs I create and told me to try to sell them. Well, I'm not one to feel that successful in something I created to try to sell them, but Donna was so excited and encouraging to me that I wanted to share one with her. Donna sent me a message the other day "reminding" me that I should try to sell these necklaces and that she wears the one that I sent her almost every day. That comment from Donna was so precious me - that someone actually liked a project I created so much to have it as part of her life almost every day. That is the best compliment I could have received!!! So, I decided to try my hand selling them AND I am happy to say, Thanks to Ms. DONNA, that I will be showcasing a few new designs at the end of May at the hair salon I go to. My friend manages the salon and she agreed she would display them for selling. OH HAPPY DAY!!! Now I have to get busy making more. :)

Thank you so much for letting me rattle on here, but I just want to thank Donna (a/k/a dnurse) for her encouragement, support, and kind words. If you haven't seen Donna's layouts yet on this wonderful site, well, you need to. I've followed her for a very long time and have been so inspired by her. It's been a true joy watching her nieces and nephews and now grandchildren grow up in her pictures and layouts. Thank you for taking time out of your precious lives to read and look at these designs. Have a terrific day!!
