Monday, January 5th, 2015 – After a nice breakfast at a local Pompano Beach restaurant (Bill had a BLT and I had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and a pumpkin pancake), we picked up Janet and Dave at their hotel. Bruce dropped the four of us off at the cruise port and drove away with our van to store it for us for the next 4 months.

The afternoon was spent checking in, grabbing lunch in the Lido and then unpacking. Did I really pack that much stuff? At 5:00PM we took a break to play trivia, grabbed a thick slice of prime rib for each of us in the Lido, then went back to our cabin so I could finish unpacking. Completely missed dinner but went to the 9:00PM all-aboard party. We were supposed to hit the open sea at 4:00PM but it was announced that it would be closer to midnight. Because of the snow storms that hit the northeast a lot of passengers who were flying in were affected so the ship was going to stay docked until those passengers could get on the ship. With 2 sea days following there would be plenty of time to catch up and get back on schedule.

When we got back to our room we found 2015 World Cruise stationery for us – 5 sheets with our names and stateroom number and 5 sheets with just the logo. It also came with a set of envelopes.

Then our room steward brought us a really nice surprise! An invitation for dinner for 2 at the Pinnacle Grill – the really nice steak and lobster grill on the ship. Very fancy! My wonderful but sneaky scrapbooking girlfriend from scrapbook.com pulled that one off! Thank you Terri! We are really going to enjoy our special night out!
