To say this is a fab job is an understatement!! Love all the strips of colors and patterns, adorable photo and journaling. And, girl, I give you a lot of credit for this design. Must have taken a while.
Oh wow, what an amazing project this is! Arranging all of those strips must have been like doing a jigsaw puzzle. The result is magnificent, though, and they frame your adorable photo perfectly. Me too, I start saving my strips this minute, lol.
too stinkin' cute! Love your take on Gwemniey's LO. I love that you saved and used all those strips; I'll want to save mine now, LOL.
She's a cutie for sure, and I love how you shared with us her love of singing that song.
Now you cant be more creative than this---I used a strip recently but I haven't save them!!! that is soooooooooooo cool...GREAT JOB!!! You are a true artist!!!!
Lisa, it took forever! I made a center point under the picture, lined up the stips along the sides, and focused them all to the center point.....cutting down the stips of course so they wouldnt cover up the dot on the paper...otherwise I would have totally lost it in the mess. TFL!
This is amazing! I love it! What a great way to use all those strips and the colors just work so well with this photo. Love the vellum behind the photo and the enamel dots too! Great layout - I faved it!
You know those little 1/2 inch scraps at the bottom of ever 12x12? For the past year I have been saving them. I had no idea what I was going to use them for. And every time I put some new ones in the drawer I wondered when I would get the chance. Then I drew Gwemniey for the Scraplift the Person Before You Challenge. Immediately I knew I wanted to do her "It's Always Darkest Before The Dawn" LO because I knew it would be the perfect chance to use those scraps. And best part of all is I had the perfect picture for it. DD was playing the yard with her cousin and the garden hose. They were having so much fun!!! Obviously, look at that face! Pure joy!
She also gets that happy when her favorite song comes on the radio. "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift is so catchy and upbeat. She always shimmies as she sings it at the top of her lungs. Seems like not that long ago she was just happy to sing Old McDonald Had A Farm...now at 2.5yrs old she is already a fan of the whole top 40. Haha. Adding the title was a nod to the song referenced in Gwemniey's LO. Check it out: Nothing new. I didn't have enough of either font, but I kinda like the mixed colors.
