February 13th, 2015 – Some days are good, some are really good and some are so good they are awesome. Today was one of the awesome days. We were in Melbourne, Australia again but it was a very special day for us.
We met Rob and Chris Schilt in 2011 when we were all on the Amsterdam together for the Grand Asia-Australia cruise. We didn't get to know each other very well on that cruise but we became acquaintances. Then last year we had the pleasure of cruising with them again on the Amsterdam for the World Cruise and got to know them a little better. We shared some shore excursions and really had fun with them.
We kept up with each other on Facebook and through private messages. When they saw our post that we were going on the World Cruise this year they immediately messaged us and asked if we would like to spend the day with them when we were in Melbourne – an hour from their home. We quickly accepted their invitation and looked forward to today.
We left the ship this morning with no idea what they had planned but we knew they were up to something! And what a day they planned!
After meeting us at a little café near where our ship was docked they drove us about 30 minutes out of town to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. WOW! We both fell in love with this zoo!
