Hi everyone! Sharing a steampunk card I made for my special brother's 60th birthday. As many of you know, I tend to use some off-the-wall things on my projects sometimes and this one has quite a few, so here goes...The piece above the cogs is aluminum shavings! My son drilled a hole to make a washer in some aluminum and that's how it came out! I thought it was cool so I kept a few of the pieces! I used TH alcohol ink to color it to match, because it was rather bright silver and I wanted it more rustic. The springs are from a broken paper punch, the zipper and snaps are from an old pair of jeans. The tiny safety pins came with tags on some shirts I got my husband for Father's Day. Oh yes, and the tag with 60 on it is actually a sample of Formica granite I got from either Lowe's or Home Depot! Also used drywall tape as you can see. My brother is a diesel mechanic and he owns half interest in a truck shop in Fresno, CA (where I'm from originally). He's worked on all sorts of big rigs, including caterpillar engines, for nearly 40 years. I felt this type of card was appropriate for him.

I used the drywall tape as a stencil to make my background using Tsukineko Brilliance Dew Drop stamp pad in Cosmic Copper and Galaxy Gold. The skinny black and goldish ribbon is some I've had in my stash that I got at a local craft store.

The little lock and key charms are from Hobby Lobby.
The clock on the zipper pull, pen tip, mini key and cogs above the word band are from Nini's Things that I won in a drawing. The 029 tag is from Blue Moon beads.

Thank you so much for stopping by friends! :-)
