In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. These are the formal group portrait and the dress rehearsal photos for Advanced/Intermediate Tap, one of 3 tap dances she had in the recital, and it's the first one for 2012 that I've gotten to. She's 15 here. The girls danced to Tonight, Tonight by Hot Chelle Rae. I loved this dance! The girls were able to put a lot of personality and attitude into this one. They had a blast doing it, and it showed.

I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots. (I'm part of the stage crew for the shows, so I can only get photos at rehearsal - hence the casual state of the girls' hair and makeup, occasional lack of full costume and smiles, and sometimes, poor lighting. These aren't performance photos.) I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp and embellies that match the single portrait LO. I like to include photos of the girls interacting with their instructor and each other during the rehearsal along with photos of the actual dance. There are 21 photos on this LO. You can see the single portrait LO for this dance as well as my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. The group portrait was taken by Cass Photography.

The costumes for this dance were really fun. There were nine girls in the dance with 3 colors and 3 skirt styles so basically they each had a one of a kind costume. Cassie got the best one IMO -- the hoop skirt in hot pink. I had the perfect pp line with these colors in My Mind's Eye Summer Song. The neon brads are cushioned vinyl. I cut the title on my Cricut. On the upper right, I used glitter letters for the word 'Whatever!' which is part of the chorus of the song. The larger photo right next to the group portrait is of Cassie making the hand symbol for it during a toe stand. In the journaling box, I wrote the class level, day & time of the class, the names of the girls in the dance, the instructor's name and her dedication from the program: "Remember, it's okay to have fun even when you are working hard." TFL!
