Friday, February 27th, 2015 – The driver we had yesterday agreed to take us out again today. Especially since we had all agreed to pay $10.00 each yesterday but we were so pleased that we each gave him $20.00.

Elaine had been sick for several days but today she felt like getting out to see Bali so she and Ed joined us to bring our numbers up to 4 couples. Our driver's van could not hold all 8 of us so his cousin came with his van and it was agreed we would follow each other.

We were especially glad to see that Nancy's hand was healing nicely
after she was bitten by a monkey yesterday. Most of us tried to convi nce
her to see the doctor back on the ship but she felt she would be fine and
we were relived to see that the wound was looking much better!

Unfortunately, today started with mild to moderate rain so the beach area was disappointing. It was a gorgeous beach but the gray skies didn't do it justice. And having to huddle under umbrellas to see the beach just kind of ruins the affect.

The main way people get around in Indonesia is on motor scooters. Cars and other passenger vehicles are greatly outnumbered by the sea of motor scooters! In every part of Indonesia I've ever been to I've seen the structures on the edge of the road (picture, above left) selling bottles of petro for the motor scooters. There is usually a funnel hanging from the structure and the bottles can be soft drink bottles or anything else they want to use.

I thought the temple for offerings (directly above, right) was interesting.
