Instead of going back to the ship - we decided to have another nice lunch in Bali. Big mistake – it was awful! So disappointing after the lunch yesterday in Bali was so good. We had plenty to eat for under $10.00 together!
After talking to the waiter to determine that the small sample plates were about $10.00 American money we decided to buy about $10.00 worth of food from the ala carte section. We wanted 16 grilled shrimp and two jumbo fried shrimp. They told us we could get 18 shrimp instead of the $10.00 platter of shrimp, calamari, clams, fish, and oysters. This was perfect (we thought) – if we liked it we would order more.
After telling us it would be about $10.00, we got a bill for $87.00. We were not happy. It was too expensive, it was not good – just not what we wanted. However, we paid the bill.
The middle picture shows palm leaves with offerings in the concrete outside the restaurant.
When our plates were brought to us they were placed on the table in front of us upside down. This is the first time any of us have ever had servers bring plates to us and place them upside down!
