I really wanted to do the Autumn Bliss challenge so I dug through some old photos of a Thanksgiving vacation we took in NC a couple years ago. Ironically the picture was taken inside, but since DD is wearing a snuggly warm onsie and a cool filter was added to the picture of her and her grandmother it conveyed just the right Autumn spirit. I knew I had to incorporate the colors Orange, Yellow and Brown, but I also wanted to really dig into that natural vibe. I wanted to hear the leaves crunching. So I die cut and punched a whole bunch of leaves on white paper and then painted them with watercolors. But then I hit a road block. I really wanted a wood grained BG paper but the only whole paper sheets I had were light colored. Specifically this awesome paper had flaking bark on it--> awesome! Except it was white and really washed out the picture and my leaves. Aghh!! Luckily my friend said "just paint it too." So I painted the paper and added a vignette and a ring of shadow to go under the leaves and add dimension. Then I used metallic gold paper to make the tiny stick punches, but you can't really see it in the picture. Any whoo I had fun making this. I hope you like it too. TFL
