I don't know if any of you have ever started a project and instead of finishing it, you put it on a shelf to collect dust or not, but this is one of those for me, so I don't know the maker of the calendar or paper cause this was started several years ago. I been to card making classes but this was my first and only craft class and while everyone else started in on making their calendars like the instructors I sat there for 20 minutes and stared at the kit wondering what I wanted to do with it. Everyone else put their reindeer, trees and clock on the back. I thought the paper was so pretty it deserved to stand alone so I grabbed the packaging out of the garbage and created a scene for the front with a lot of glue. I ran out of time so when I got home it was placed on the shelf and forgotten about unfinished.
So here's to finishing something I started ;O)
I combined Burnt Umber & Crimson acrylic paint to give the calendar more of a wood look instead of the bright white it was, I felt it suited the paper better.
I distressed the edges, added the embellishments and snow-tex and then covered the snow-tex with the rock candy. Some of the embellishments needed something extra so I got out my silks and a very tiny paint brush and voila!
Now - unto the next unfinished project ;O)
