This is so gorgeous....love the design, colors, flowers. and, my very first thought was how did you get a photo of me!!!! the little girl in the middle looks a lot like I did at her age!
Created for the October Round Robin at Swirlydoos, this one featuring my father and his two sisters came pretty easily, having so many incredible pages to lift for my inspiration. I don't own any Autumn Song paper, but I did receive the Bo Bunny Weekend Market as a RAK from Swirlydoos some time ago and (fortunately) I've been using it pretty sparingly, leaving me enough to follow the color scheme of this challenge. I kept Kim's design as my roadmap - it's a gorgeous one to follow, but instead of matting, I fussy cut almost all of the Cut Outs paper that I had and used the pieces for a lot of dimensional layering. I loved Sherri's use of Jan's Tissue Flower tutorial and I decided to lift this idea, using some Lindy's Starbursts to give them some Fall colors. Cindy used stenciling to lift the design element in the bottom corner of the paper and I followed her, using a Crafter's Workshop template and the Ferro that we received a few kits ago. The brads are from the kit we received last June; the Prima flowers are from the October Add-On. The heart is from my stash, origins forgotten. Last, but so not least, I owe thanks to Rae for the gorgeous metal butterfly.
I did meet all of the twists: 1. Swirly Tutorial: As I mentioned above, I used Jan's Tissue Paper Flowers. http://www.swirlydoos.com/forums/topic/tissue-flower/ 2. Texture: I place bits and pieces of burlap under the large flowers in the corner. 3. Long-neglected Mixed Media product: I treated the Blue Fern chipboard swirl with alcohol inks.
