Great job adding all those photos!!!! Love the "skyscraper" and the way you included the lyrics going up the side! Everything on here looks so nice and balanced and pretty!
I'm so impressed with your action shots. They are so clear. Mine always come out blurry even on action mode. Wow 8 dances! Are you able to afford to eat? j/k I just know how expensive dance can be but it is so well worth it for her. Confidence, work hard ethic, team work, listening to directions and applying them are some of the great things dance teaches our young people. Beautiful LO. I love that you have so many pictures on the page.
Amazing layout! You do such a lovely job on these pages! What a keepsake for her someday! Your design is perfect for all these photos - and I love the photos of all the girls in their beautiful poses. I love seeing your daughters recital layouts like this and the single ones of just her. You do such a beautiful job of scrapping them!
In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. These are the formal group portrait and the dress rehearsal photos for Advanced/Intermediate Ballet, one of 2 ballet dances she had in this recital. She's 15 here. The girls danced to Skyscraper by Demi Lovato.
I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots from the dress rehearsals. (I'm part of the stage crew for the shows, so I can only get photos at rehearsal - hence the casual state of the girls' hair and makeup, occasional lack of full costume and smiles, and sometimes, poor lighting. These aren't performance photos.) I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp and embellies that match the single portrait LO. When I have them, I like to include photos of the girls interacting with their instructor and/or each other in the theater during the rehearsal along with photos of the actual dance. There are 19 photos on this LO. You can see the single portrait LO for this dance as well as my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. The group portrait was taken by Cass Photography.
This is my example for my November Four Categories Challenge - Category One ~ Product: Felt. I have 2 felt clouds. For the bling twist, I have gems scattered diagonally across the LO.
This is for the November Music Challenge - Lyrics. I used rub-ons to add a lyric to the song up the side of my skyscraper border: 'Closer to the Clouds Up Here.' I used pop up squares under the 2 punched clouds and the strip of pp on the right page for the twist.
Also for a VLB Challenge to use bling.
This is a gorgeous costume. The top layer is ivory netting with cream and teal embroidery and gold sequins. I scanned the fabric, printed the scan on vellum, and fussy cut parts of the design to use on the page. I used an old CM punch for the tiny squares I needed for the skyscraper's windows. I altered the color of the top left felt cloud with my Broken China Distress Marker to make it a better match. I doodled stitches on the 2 punched clouds to coordinate with the real stitches on the felt clouds. Under the group portrait, I wrote the class level, day & time of the class, the names of the girls in the dance, and the instructor's name. In the upper right, I wrote out the instructor's dedication from the program: 'To my daughters and all my dancers, I truly hope this dance speaks volumes to you in the depth of the lyrics and movement.'
