I borrowed this idea from the Oct. 2006 Scrapbooks Etc magazine layout by Jennifer Johner. I loved the idea of using my scraps of paper and using them to create the mosaic look of the layout. Time consuming, yes, but you feel very accomplished when you are done. :) I struggled with the lettering, because I didn't want it to take away from the design. I hope that it works.
