Journaling reads:
There used to be 2,100 cows and 2 alligators on XXXX’s 290 acre dairy farm in Zephyrhills, where we spend the winters. Mr. XXXX sold the land to developers in the spring of 2005. These photos were taken in late March of 2005, just before the gators disappeared from their pond on XXXX Road.
Now, legend has it that a vagrant who was well known in the area; disappeared years back while staggering home one night. Many believe that
he wondered onto the dairy farm in his stupor and met the gators face to face. Never to be seen again.
Our neighbor, Dennis; took this photo of the gators a few days before they disappeared. Rumors flourished about helicopters hovering over the area on the gators last night in their pond. As our curiosity grew, Dennis asked the owners as to the gators whereabouts. He learned that they had decided to relocate and were last seen waddling in the waterway under Highway XXX headed west. Farwell to another urban legend.
