Journaling says: The February [2010] Photo of the Month topic was "Passion." I chose to photograph red fabric because passion is red, like envy is green, cowardice is yellow, and purity is white. My photo won, but the printed version doesn't do justice to the way it appears on the computer. I tried several different lighting edits. This one shows the depth the best, but loses the shine.

I wouldn't have scrapped this as a one photo LO because, as I explained in the journaling, it didn't translate to print very well. However, I scrapped all my other Photo of the Month pictures like this, and I'm too OCD to leave this one out. LOL

This is my example for my January Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Monochrome. I did the twist to use one color ONLY for everything including the title and journaling. I used all the same cardstock for this, using punches on the different layers. I curled up the edges a bit on the punched layers to create some shadows and depth. The doily is a lighter red. The title letters are red foil, and the rick rack is a metallic red. I used red gems on the corners. The journaling is written around the outside of the largest punched square with a Red Brick Distress marker.
