The jounaling on the layout tells about the photos but I think you can read it so I won't recap that infomation.

One funny thing... we thought we were going to get on a cargo plane hours earlier and the weight limits on the baggage weight limits on the cargo planes are very generous. That can be for the C-5, C-17 or one of the tankers or any of the other large cargo planes we often ride on.

They allow each person all the carry-ons they can carry and they also allow 2 suitcases to be check in each - up to 70 pound per suitcase. That means we can normally have 140 pounds each or 280 between us and 4 suitcases.

We had a storage locker near the base and had given it up since a friend built a storage facility for us on his property to keep our license plates and some clothes, our grill and other things so we would not have to rent a storage space anymore. We had moved our stuff out of the storage and into the back of Jeff and Natalie's house but still had part of a month rental on the unit so when we found out we could get on the General's plane, we had a problem. We had a lot of heavy stuff we were taking home with us and probably reached close to the maximum weight for our luggage. What we didn't put at Jeff's and Natalie's or give to Goodwill, we were taking home with us.

Problem - weight limit on the General's plane, 25 pounds each I think - we had to travel light.

We went through all our suitcases and rounded up boxes from the USO and started packing up everything we didn't need. Somehow we got our suitcases light enough and Bill got a ride with our excess stuff to the storage facility across the airfield. He stacked all our stuff in there that we couldn't take on the plane.

Jeff wakes up around 4:00 every morning and puts in a lot of work before it gets hot (he owns a sign-making company) and then takes a long nap in the heat of the day so Bill knew he could call him at 5:00am and he would be awake and working, which he was.

He is retired military also and can get on the base so he went to our storage locker (which no longer had a lock on it) and took all our stuff out and put it all in the shed he had built for us.

Without Jeff's help I don't know what we would have done with all our stuff!
