when my 9-year-old came home and told me he had to create a 3D model of a Native American shelter, I almost cried. My DS1 is a mathematical genius, logical thinker, and destined to be some sort of engineer. But when it comes to being crafty, he HATES it. I knew there would be tears. He had a great plan, and drawn up a model for his sweat lodge, but when I read the requirements of decorating the scene, I thought he might have a heart attack right there and then. FORTUNATELY. I knew Kate Hadfield would have just the perfect designs for me! I bargained that he wouldn't have to draw and color if he'd be willing to cut and tape! Kate's designs saved us tears this weekend. Seriously! And he's so proud that he not only has his sweat lodge just the way he envisioned it, but that it looks nice, too. Whew! Thanks Kate!
