This is a set of CNY couplets that I've created for this year, 2016. Using the leftover red packets* on the top and bottom corners. Using the glossy thick paper as the background. Created the poeny flowers using pink tissue papers and the red chenille sticks to create cherry blossoms :P Using the Kaisercraft DD542 die to cut the Japanese flower sticky paper for the side edges.
Couplet on the left denotes the whole family lives in happiness and the right one denotes five lmnts of prosperous reaches the home :)

* an envelope used by Chinese during new year to place some money as ang pow for the youngers or singles; the married couples are to give this red packet as a auspicious and gratitude to their parents or elderly as an appreciation of love.
