Made this for my cousin's Birthday. The birds depict my hubby, my daughter and me (I'm the bird holding the brush since I made it). Finally got a chance to play with Tim Holtz's Crazy Bird & Crazy Things stamp set, his marker set, and watercolor papers. I made two bows: one green with a "Peeled Paint" marker and one pink with a "Victorian Velvet" marker, with touches of "Vintage Photo" on the edges, misted with water, scrunched up, then let dry. I experimented w/water coloring cardstock vs. water color paper and I really prefer the water color paper (doesn't tear/can layer colors). This is my first canvas and I didn't want anything to fall off, so I used brads, multi medium for glue or stitched it with twine. I used glossy accents on the party hat, bird beaks, hat flower, bow tie, and hat bow. For the crackled heart, I used white gesso on grunge board, then white picket fence crackle paint, then when completely dry and crackled, I rubbed in Victorian Velvet reinker. When my layout was completely finished, I used the honeycomb stencil and used a baby wipe to rub some of the paint off, for a muted effect. HUGE shout out to Tim Holtz for these awesome whimsical stamps and these markers (Wild Honey is my absolute fave). Hope you're all having a great day and getting your hands all inked up!
