I got the inspiration to create this for my elegant gown series from the challenge blog, Scrap Magic. The theme was two contrasting elements: wood and lace. How cool to work with those elements, right? I painted the little frame behind the photo to look like weather wood and inserted a piece of vintage lace behind. I got an idea to create a heart shape using some old floral wire and a Blue Fern Studios heart shaped chipboard and attached a small piece of lace behind that too. The photo reminded me of a movie I rented recently entitled, "Farewell My Queen." It was about Marie Antoinette's Reader during two tumultuous days of Marie's reign. A resonated scene in the movie was when Marie brought out her scrapbook full of exquisite snippets of fabrics and embroidery. I would have loved to view that scrapbook. Thanks for letting me share this piece with you.
