In 2012, my dd was in 8 dances in her studio's recital. Three were tap dances, two of which were for Advanced Tap, and these are the formal group portrait and the dress rehearsal photos for one of those. Her class danced to Midnight Man by Renee Olstead. She's 15 here.

I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots from the dress rehearsals. (I'm part of the stage crew for the shows, so I can only get photos at rehearsal - hence the casual state of the girls' hair and makeup, occasional lack of full costume and smiles, and sometimes, poor lighting. These aren't performance photos.) I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp and embellies that match the single portrait LO. When I have them, I like to include photos of the girls interacting with their instructor and each other during the rehearsal along with photos of the actual dance. There are 22 photos on this LO. You can see the single portrait LO for this dance as well as my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery. The group portrait was taken by Cass Photography.

This was the first year she had the same costume for two dances. For Take the A Train, I used a subway/New York theme and had neon green in the LOs as well because the girls in Cassie's class danced with the older girls in the next class level up, who wore this same costume but with green accents. For this one, I stuck with pink because the dance was performed by only the four girls in Cassie's class, and they all wore the pink ties and hats. I used a star theme to go with Midnight Man.

The scalloped piece is an 8x8 die cut paper that I cut and put hot pink cs behind to show through the holes. The black vertical and white horizontal strips are glittered cs. The ribbon is a scrap I had from off a gift bag. I cut the bottom to a point like a tie to echo the one on the costume. The strand of sequins along the side border matches the ones in the stripes of the costume. The larger sized stars are iridescent acetate that I got a long time ago in a package from Swarovski. I punched the smaller size ones from silver glitter paper. I also added loose sequins from the same strand that's along the side, and some old Class-a-peel iridescent circle stickers. I used a Sharpie to write the day & time of the class, the instructor's name, the class level, the names of the dancers, and the instructor's dedication from the program in the journaling box.
