My paternal grandmother circa 1940s. I am estimating the date based on her clothing, her hair not completely white as is was when I knew her and the french doors behind her which I think are from her home in NJ. She and my grandfather moved to Vermont in 1948.
This is for 2 challenges: March 4 Categories, category 2 colors - blue and yellow (my all time fav color combo) the March Round Robin team 1, week 3, with the twist of a letter.
Dear Grandma,
Becky & I were talking the other day about our mutual love of pansies & we realized that, for both of us, it's because of you. You taught us to love flowers and beauty. You passed on your love of making a comfortable home, of being a gracious hostess. You taught us good posture and good manners (I can still curtsy). You taught us confidence and that being a strong woman is good. That education is very important and family even more so. You taught us to honor our ancestors and to guide the next generations. Your example taught me what a lady is. Love, Mary
I blended some of the screen ink into the gesso for a tone on tone effect - it is much prettier IRL. On the Maya Road flourish I gobbed on some more of the ink and then used the heat gun on it - I love the texture that resulted.
