This was our second Christmas in this house. Unfortunately I couldn't remember how I did all the decorations the year before...so we just made it up on the fly. We were doing great until Sunny got really sick...so much vomiting! So I took her to the vet...3 hours and $350 later it was determined that the one piece of ham she snuck off the table the day before (Thanksgiving) was the culprit. UUGH! The joy of owning a dog. However I will say this: something changed that day. she became more than the puppy we had to take care of and train, but a very valued member of the family and someone I realized I would miss terribly if something were to happen to her.

Despite the (emotional) interruption, we did manage to get the place decorated, eventually. And I loved the way it turned out. Plus I am super proud of DD and DH for doing the tree all by their selves. A fact DD was very proud of for several days. I was also very proud of the super cool stencil I found at HL...its Santa's foot prints! So after DD went to bed on Christmas eve I totally made his "snowy" foot prints leaving the fireplace...though mud would have been more apropos in Florida. haha

I struggled with this LO...I wanted it to feel home-y and homespun, and yet festive. Luckily I remembered how much I really liked " New dress" By: Lillesmor. So this is my lift. About half way though I wanted to pull my hair out, because it wasn't coming together and I had no idea how to start all over again. So I didn't and just pushed forward. I still think I am missing something but I can't put my finger on it. If you think of it...add it to the comments. I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!!
