Saturday, March 1st, 2014 – our second day in Manila was a lot more exciting!

After breakfast we got on the shuttle and asked the driver if he would drop us off at the Manila Hotel. (He is only supposed to go between the Robinson mall and the ship with no stops in-between.) He thought about it for a second and since there were not many people on the shuttle bus he agreed to let us off when we passed it. The hotel is about half-way between the cruise ship port and the Robinson mall – way too far to walk, especially on such a hot day and we wanted to tour the Manila Hotel today!

When we got to the hotel Bill said he thought there was a wedding, as a woman in a beautiful blue plantation gown was standing in front of the hotel. She was wearing a very elegant-looking tiara on her head and the gentleman next to her was in a white suit and top hat. When we inquired we were told she was not a bride (in Asian countries we have seen brides wearing red, pink, turquoise and other color gowns) but she was a hotel employee.
