OMG... This is incredible! Just incredible!!! I could stare at this for hours! GORGEOUS photo and you are incredibly talented at making the bg look EXACTLY like the photo! Miss the Cascades so much... Beautiful!
As always, you are the clever one & love every inch of this lo! Of course, you used real birch wood, so sweet with the bird setting on it. I love how you did the field of flowers & the mountains. Great photo of your hubby & every inch a beauty my friend!:))
This is 'get out' amazing Elizabeth; totally breathtaking. (I think I've only seen work like this once before, where you build the l/o strictly from the photos reality) You nailed this! OMW! Love your whimsy birch bark! Genius friend~
This lo left me speechless! No way in the world would the design & finished lo ever come into my mind! You are such a talented lil angel! Your art amazes me!
Incredible the way you did the background to fit around the stunning photo of your DH and those mountains. The hill of stamps flowers is so beautiful. I sure like the random spots of white in the grass. You really put your heart and soul into this one. Well done.
Beautiful page, love the photo of your husband, wow you say this was out of your comfort zone. You did absolutely awesome with it. love every detail beautiful wok!!!
I've had this picture of my husband in a folder for several years. It is a favorite of mine and I finally got around to making a layout that was a bit out of my comfort zone and style. I kind of like how it turned out though.
I took this picture of him when he helped me climb the hill behind our place to the plateau and see if we could get a glimpse of some bluebirds. The sunflowers were so pretty in bloom and I love the view of the Cascades and lovely clouds. I just noticed he's wearing one of the western shirts I made him a long time ago! :-)
I decided to expand the picture instead of doing one with lots of embellies. I found green paper that would match the green in the picture first, tore the edges to continue with the slope and then I decided to try and extend the hills as well. The blue scrap paper I used for that wasn't quite dark enough so I inked in with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans and added a little Colorbox off-white chalk ink for fading snow on the hills. For the clouds I used Waverly white chalk paint using my finger to paint it on.
I wanted to use TH Mustard Seed ink pad for my sunflower stamp but after testing it on a sample it wouldn't show up, so I bought some yellow paint and mixed a little orange in it to match the sunflowers better. I stamped and heat embossed the evergreen trees to look like they were on the other side of the hill mixing TH Black Soot & Iced Spruce. I also stamped and heat embossed the stems, grass and other plants. For the centers of the flowers I used Antique Bronze distress stickles. My one off-the-wall item used on this is birch bark for the tree stumps. (You can actually see one in the picture to the left of Kenneth.)
I inked the little wood bluebirds in with TH Salty Ocean...a new one I just bought and I love that color! Last I dabbed a bit of paper towel onto a chalk ink pad and dabbed it here and there for whitish colored blooms.
