1st I have to say that it is amazing that you are getting these wonderful layouts done without having you scrap room back!
This is a terrific tribute to your dad.
What a lovely tribute to your dad! I especially like how you kept the color palette neutral to pop all the pictures of the floral arrangements. Very interesting info about your grandfather - my husband's great grandfather was an Irish stone mason who worked on the Washington Monument, too. I seem to recall that it took years and years to complete and the building was interrupted by WW2(?) Can't remember for sure. That would be the only way to explain why you and I have two different generations in the family who worked on it.
A 2 pager with pictures of the flowers from my Dad’s funeral in 2015. I love scrapbooking because it tells the stories behind the pictures. My Grandfather was a photographer for the Army in WWI and WWII. He also helped build the Panama Canal and the Washington Monument. That’s where my love of photographs came from and my love for story telling came from my Dad. Being able to not only share the memories and stories behind the photos, scrapping and card making have become a much-needed mental therapy for me. My parents were 84 and 92 when they died but they both passed within 2 years of each other. And they were both very ill before they passed. It was an extremely stressful time in my life and being able to pull out pictures of my family and get lost in the memories (both good and bad) turned out to be the only thing that would calm me down enough to stop the shaking that I’d developed from the stresses. I love doing challenges and being pushed outside my own box because sometimes I find I like it out there and want to stay! Scrapping and the scrappy forums have encouraged that in me and have encouraged an artistic side in my personality that I never knew existed! As a result my style can be quite eclectic. Even after 15 years I’m still completely obsessed and addicted and never want to stop scrapping ever!!!
