Love this LO. The embellishments are perfect for a teacher. Love the diamond cuts. Guess I'm going to have to break down and get a Big Shot and some dies.
You did a wonderful job with this vintage photo. I can imagine the photographer taking this picture and how pleased he and your uncle would be to see this photo displayed with such style. Well done.
Vicki, this was an instant fave for me! And the aged look of the old photo (exposed and appearing to be in an 'old trunk for years' *sigh* - - call me weird) . You paired it with perfect pprs for this project; & great die cut corners. Your Ancestry pages are completely inspiring! And I really like the fam history you share w/us. TFS~ Karen
This is Virgil my mother's uncle. My goodness he was a handsome man. I remember him but of course he was much older. The oldest of the Holt kids he was a teacher and school super when my GM was still a little girl. His wife was also a teacher. It's always a surprise to see a woman working outside the home in 1910-1920!
I did not crop this photo oddly it was already a long skinny photo. Old photos are often not a standard size. You can see a oval shadow where the photo was exposed in the nice paper folder still in good condition even though stored in a old trunk for years.
