While cleaning and rearranging my stash this weekend, I got inspired! (Amazing what happens when you see what all you've got! LOL) I've seen this washi technique before and have been wanting to try it. I got these BEAUTIFUL ombre washi rolls on recommendation from Notanavgblond (THANKS GIRL!) and was dying to use them! While stashing them in rainbow order (OCD much?) I noticed a lot of teal/chartreuse rolls. It inspired me to do my Crazy 4 Color entry!

Now, I've had this photo on my desk to be scrapped since I took it last summer and just have not been able to find the right page for it. It's such a cool pic I almost didn't want to cover it up with that transparency, but the transparency looked SO good too. AH what a dilemma! LOL This is a pic of DH, DS and his bestie at the beach in Ventura late last summer. Two major things at play here - 1. DH looks like he's really enjoying himself! We've been down a long road while battling his chronic health condition and the limbo of listing him for a lung transplant and then being on hold while they tried to get rid of an infection they thought he had. (He didn't have one!) And then his lungs miraculously starting to work so much better that they removed him from the list in January! This was a fun day at the beach after the infection, our DD was born and DH started feeling and doing better.
#2 is because our DS is IN. THE. WATER!! He's been vehemently against getting even a toe wet every trip to the beach since he was a year. On the other hand, his bestie is a walking mermaid. Seriously, the girl is part fish and loves playing in the waves! DS would always politely (or not so politely) decline all invitations to get wet on her part or ours, until this day. Ventura Harbor beach has some cool rock formations that make up the entrance into Ventura Harbor and when the tide is out, there are some killer tide pools. So I asked DS if he wanted to go looking for starfish while the water was out. It took some cajoling and some shameless Oreo cookie bribery on my part, but I got him to walk over with me. Then it was slowly getting him to get his feet wet to look in the pools and next thing we know, he's waist deep with Daddy in one of the pools WITH the water coming in - and not freaking out!!! From then on, we couldn't get him away from the waves! (Ventura beach waves also break really far out so its not as intimidating to him I think.) I have lots of pix of him in the water with his bestie (see an earlier LO this year) and then DH got in on the action and was showing the kids how to jump the waves and I snapped this shot. The sun was so bright, I didn't even see this pic until we got in the car MUCH later!

So here's the page and I LOOOOVE how it turned out! Lots of little bits and pieces I found while organizing so lots of HOARDED stuff for my challenge. The wood grain bg is from a pack I bought after last summer's beach trips. It's very So Cal and I love it! I also opened one of the ombre ink pads I got and used my new dream catcher wood stamp. And of course there's all that fabulous new washi tape! I also tried bubble wrap around the edges, just because I wanted to try the technique!

Entered in the Crazy 4 Color, HOARDERS, Random Acts and Sports challenges.

TFL!
