Page 452 - Volume Challenge- 2014 World Cruise

After I downloaded this I made a few changes so the copy below is actually how it reads and how it is punctuated. I only made a few changes but they are not on the layout as shown above. I have put them on the original layout for printing. If you see any errors in the copy below, please let me know.

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 – Today we spent on another Cape Verde Island – Mindelo. Very nice little island with a strong African influence.

We found several members of the chess team in town when we got off the ship's free shuttle. They were negotiating with a taxi driver for a tour of the island and invited us to join them. Of course, we could not get 8 in a taxi so the driver gave us the option to take 2 taxis or to take the 8 passenger bus. We opted for the 8 passenger bus but when we asked to see it he pointed to a pickup truck with two bench seats in the back - one along each side. It was completely open!

I immediately got excited because I knew it was going to be fun as soon as I saw it. I really wanted to ride in the back of this open pickup truck and it turned out to be even more fun than I imagined it would be! We saw the city and the country, checked out 2 beaches and even drove on the sand on one of the beaches with the wind blowing through our hair and the sun shining down on us. I loved every minute of it.
