Give a Cheer
I have been hoarding this DCWV Pet Stack paper for a couple of years now and finally decided to break it out and combine it with this adorable pup from Clearly Besotted's "Playful Pooches" stamp set. For the background, I cut apart one of the papers that had lots of stripes of puppy themed images for the bottom half of the card, eliminating some of the stripes that seemed to clash with the colors I wanted to focus on. For the top, I simply used the cute green and brown polka dot paper. The biggest issue for me was that the stripe of fire hydrants was oddly cut off so that two of the taller hydrants were decapitated! I covered one of them with my image and I fussy cut out and pieced together the top of another hydrant on the second. Whew-saved! :)
I curved the sentiment on my MISTI tool to give it a kind of nest feel to the pup and then stamped out both the image and the sentiment at once. I used a couple of dies (a cross-stitched and a plain) to cut out the image and mat it after doing a little simple Copic coloring.
