DigiDude, No, this is not two shots layered together. I was perplexed at the image as well, because the background is so focused and the cup itself is not. I took it with my inexpensive HP R717 PhotoSmart camera. I believe I had it in macro mode, as it was such a close up shot. The reason the coffee does not appear focused around the edges is that it was hot, and there is steam rising from the cup.

This is a great effect, but I have to ask. Is this two shots layered together? You have two separate focal levels. One in the center of the coffee for the reflection (but not around the edges) and the other deep in the background trees. I've been doing photography for 25 years and this shot seems impossible using one exposure.
