Beautiful Sonja! Is that stitched all around the page?! I also love the stencil you used subliminally around the gorgeous photo--I have that one and LOVE it!
Wow, this is fabulous!!! I love the painted background, you really captured the feel of the sunset! Cute hot air balloon and registration plate metal embellishment! Awesome layout!
I am impressed with the wash that you did. What paper did you used for this? I want to try watercoloring on LOs but am scared that the paper may warp. Fabulous page.
Wow, wow! What a pretty watercolored background to go with this photo, the memories you captured are so cool, what a great day to remember this beautiful sunset, your page is lovely
So calm and serine - a perfect picture to remember the beauty of the time spend with dh in this beloved spot! Amazing background work! Love the colors with stencil work. The stitched edge adds a nice finish to the layout!!
oh, wow, Sonja, this is just gorgeous! I love your bg and how you did the journaling. I loved reading about your adventure with your DH that day; what a special memory for you. I also love your random sewing around the whole page; something I need to try to do!
Wow, you did a fabulous job of painting your background to match that beautiful photo. This is so beautiful Loved reading about your feelings for this spot.
Wow! what a fabulous photo and your layout really enhances it! I loved reading about the day when you took the photo - I love Seattle and I recognized so many of the things you mentioned - what a precious memory! I loved that you painted the sunset - it's all so special!
My beloved Puget Sound! How I miss you!!! This was a sunset pic I snapped last Christmas while DH and I were tooling around Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle on our 'day out' without the kids. (Kids were being spoiled rotten by my parents and not missing us at all! LOL) We had had our hair done up in Ballard, then went to lunch at the Pike Place Brewery and then walked around Westlake Center, the pier and down and around Century Link and Safeco, stopping in the Seahawks team store. The weather couldn't have been more perfect that day and it was a lovely day just the two of us. I have several other photos to scrap including a selfie in this same spot.
This one I took as we were leaving the market at closing. The sun was setting over the Olympics and there was a ferry on the water. A rare and beautiful winter day in Seattle, my beloved home town.
This is for the Scraplift the Person Before You challenge. I got to lift Toni-n-TN this month and when I saw her page "Remember" seen here:
with its painted background, I knew I wanted to bust out my new Prima watercolors and try the wash technique! It was SO fun!!! Those colors are very pigmented and I loved the tin they come in because you can mix colors right there! I tried to recreate the photo somewhat though you can never really recreate the color of Elliot Bay at sunset. Anyway, it was fun to try and DH was suitably impressed with my (very rusty) watercolor painting abilities. LOL
I am also including in my Hoarders challenge as I have had that loopy title pack forever and have never used them. Since Toni used one on hers, I thought it was a good time to (ahem find) and use mine! Super happy with the results!
