Amazing how you are to make the inside just as beautiful and the front of the cards. Sorta ironic, I had just recently asked a shared sb.com member about making the inside as or more beautiful than the cover! Thanks for answering my question.
Pure ingenuity love how you incorporated the 50 with the butterflies and the flowers in violet are a perfect background detail. Love it, I also like to make a larger card I find it easier for being creative.
I agree with each comment below! Wow is an understatement! I love the trail of butterflies around those lovely flowers, absolutely gorgeous. Keep up the awesome work, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your creations!
This is beyond amazing! I cannot believe all the work you put into this lovely card! I love how you used ALL the butterflies & your bg with the different squares of paper is so creative. This truly is a work of art! WOW! WOW! WOW!:))
What a beautiful card & that MS pen is by far the best little craft tool to own. I have never thought to use it as a script & then use glitter, very clever!:)
Finally!!! After a couple weeks of work this card is complete! My third card (my third paper art project period) is done. When I first saw this card in my mind's eye and sketched it down, I thought "no problem, quick and easy right?". The finale was a deafening "NO". I seemed to run into problem after problem with this card. However, I think a lot of it boils down to sheer inexperience. But in the end I learned a great deal and got to try a ton of new techniques, some of them ended up in the card and some of them didn't.
It seems that my standard size of card is going to be 10 x 8 inches. I know that's large in card standards, but it gives me plenty of room to work and I enjoy having as large of a canvas as possible to create on. I'm beginning to think my cards are more "greeting books" rather than "greeting cards".
This project is a 50th anniversary card for a couple of dear friends of mine that I've known all of my life. Unfortunately I didn't get it done in time for their anniversary, but I do hope they'll appreciate it all the same.
The base paper is a 130lb silk white cardstock, which also found its way into the free hand dry embossed squares under the roses and butterflies. There is the Black and Ivory paper collection throughout the card. I obtained extra depth with the mating by layering the paper twice, using the American Crafts plain white cardstock under each layer of paper. The roses are a typical spiral rose made from the American Crafts white cardstock and sprinkled with Sugar Cube iridescent glitter made by Martha Stewart. The foliage is also cut from the American Crafts plain white cardstock and covered first with a green transparent glitter and secondly the Sour Apple Martha Stewart iridescent glitter. I used the Martha Stewart Classic Large and 3-In-One punches for the butterflies. The butterflies are double layered, first with the K&Company Black and Ivory collection then with a "Autumn Hay" (looks more champion in my opinion) Metallic vellum paper. I then did glitter detailing using Citrine and Red Corundum obtained through the Rich Essentials glitter 24 pack glitter by Martha Stewart. The paper bow is made from the Core'Dinations Hocus Pocus collection sparkled up with the Red Corundum to have it match a little better with the red on the butterflies. The number 50 was done free hand and based upon a 50 I printed out on the computer. It's made only out of butterflies and there is no hidden 50 behind them.
