I was going to combine these pics with the Railroad Redoubt but I had too much journaling and I wanted certain colors for Texas (needed yellow so I could add a yellow rose).

Use your stamps - stamping with old washi tape roll and wine cork and butterfly.

Journaling: The Texas State Memorial is the first state memorial that you will come to on the southern loop of the Battlefield Tour road. It is located next to the Railroad Redoubt stop because it was here that Union forces briefly took control of the Confederate fort, only to be forced out by Texas reinforcements later that same day.
It is constructed of Texas red granite. The eleven steps leading to the main portion of the memorial honor Texas' sister states in the Confederacy. A live yucca plant, native to Texas and the southwestern United States, is a unique addition to the monument. The bronze statuary symbolizes all who served from Texas at Vicksburg and captures the spirit of the men who sealed the breach in the Confederate lines.. The memorial lists all Texas units on the defensive line, in Johnston's Army, and in Walker's Texas Division.
