such a cool place and those building were beautiful - the building with the bird on top is the Liver Building and that is a Liver bird (pronounced Leaver). It has been the bird associated with the city since medieval times! I think it is mythical but not sure.
July 18th, 2014 – I can't believe we were in Liverpool, England today. When I was a teenager listening to the Beatles sing, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, She Loves You and I saw her standing There, I wanted to make a pilgrimage to Liverpool. Well, almost 50 years have gone by, but, better later than never. I finally made it. In truth, the urge to visit Liverpool subsided after high school but came back with a vengeance when I saw it was on our ship's itinerary for this cruise!
Making the day even more special, Tammy Spruce, one of my www.scrapbook.com girlfriends lives in Scotland, but was going to take a train to spend the day with us in Liverpool! We had plans to meet her by the ticket office for the Magical Mystery Tour bus! I couldn't wait to meet her in person!
I was up at the crack of dawn – much too excited to sleep late. After breakfast in the Lido we ventured out to see the city of Liverpool. I couldn't resist posing with one of the “locals”, then we walked past some of the city buildings to find Tammy.
