Textured papers make pockets and backgrounds in the first pages of the altered book. Left is the letter that I wrote her explaining WHY I decided to make her this book (the picture is what inspired the entire thing.) On the other side is a quote from Dr. Seuss and stenciled gears. On the right, the lyrics to the country song, "If You're Goin Through Hell", by Rodney Atkins is on the tag. This shows that tag on the reverse -- my literal hand drawing of the lyrics, a girl tip toeing by the devil headed for the stairs leading to heaven.
