Give a Cheer
This is the front cover of the altered book I made for my fiance's neice who was going through a VERY tough time in her life, and then had to move away for the first time. I wanted to inspire her, encourage her and know she was loved. Tissue paper covers the cover front and back which was painted with acrylics and the dry brushed to hit the highlilghts. Fibers and ribbons on the spine hold metal embelllishments like leaves, keys, charms, i love you hand, tassle etc.. The right side shows the closure laying on the table. The door is an unfinished pine door I found at a local Hobby store, which also smells wonderful! I added cinnamon and clove essential oils to it as well as to the fibers over the 4 month period making the piece. (Its her favorite smell!)
