I wanted to try a different technique to create a clean all-white background but with texture and interest. So I used the Paper Smooches Hibiscus Die and die cut it out 10 times. Just using the outline portion of the die, I glued it down all over the card base. This created a faux embossed look that added interest but didn't detract or destract from the focal flower cluster.
Then to create a vibrant focal point, I used Ken Oliver Color Bursts to water color some scraps of watercolor papers in Merlot, Burnt Orange, Yellow Ochre, and Terre Verte. Then I used the Paper Smooches Hibiscus Die to cut the flower outlines and petals from the the merlot and yellow/orange papers and the leaves from the green papers. To add a little extra whimsy, I also cut out some swirls using the Paper Smooches Paisleys die set to add more funky leaves.
To add dimension to the flower cluster, I glued some pieces down completely, glued some pieces down just at their bases (leaving the other end free to hang off of the card base), popped some pieces up on 1/16" thick dimensionals and some pieces up on 1/8" thick dimensionals
