Thanks to the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918, I am here today. My grandfather got drafted into the army at the tail-end of WWI and was to ship out to France. Instead, he was still hospitalized stateside with the Spanish Flu when the war ended on November 11. However, his entire battalion, which had gone ahead without him, was killed in action. This heritage page shows him in uniform and actual postcards that he sent home to family.
