The minute I first saw the preview for Disney Pixar movie “Cars” I knew it would be the perfect first theater movie to take Justin to see. He has a long attention span. He will watch Toy Story 1 and 2 back to back if you let him. Plus, Justin LOVES cars. What a perfect combination a movie made by the same people that made Toy Story – about Justin’s favorite topic – cars…a sure win!
We decided to go to a matinee opening weekend on Saturday, June 10, 2006. Tim and I decided it was a must to introduce Justin to our tradition of eating at Buffalo Wild Wings before the movie. Tim and I did our usual: split an order of medium wings and an order of garlic mushrooms. Justin had macaroni and cheese with milk.
At the theater we got some buttered popcorn and a drink. Justin liked the big seats. The kids around us were all excited and happy for Justin that it was his first movie. We were off to a bumpy start when the previews began. The volume was so loud that it scared Justin. It was earsplitting. The previews were also too long. I was afraid we were going to have to take Justin home. Finally, the movie began and everything was alright. Justin loved his first movie. Since then, Cars was release on DVD on Tuesday, November 6, 2006. I of course, bought it for him that day. We have watched it at a minimum of once a day since we got the DVD. At least today’s date in only November 12, 2006.
