This particular art journal spread is dedicated to one of my favorite artists online, Marta Lapkowska ( #maremismallart ). Mesmerized by her textures and color choices, I decided to jump off the cliff and tackle that as well. Out came an old mesh-covered sponge, gauze from the first aid kit, cheese cloth from the kitchen, and a bunch of paper towels.
Tim Holtz tissue paper & washi tape, those glorious textiles and it wasn't long before I was a believer in the flesh to her technique. (I now know MANY people do this but Marta was the 1st artist I saw --technically -- so all glory goes to her.)
I worked to achieve similiar spray results also, and she LOVES LOVES LOVES butterflies. I am pleased with this 1st try and know I will use the steps again...often!
