Wow, this is a Favorite for sure!
I love the beautiful colors and what you did with the vellum!
The story of your mom, is so wonderful! What a joy, to read and I'm certainly glad you have those very special memories of her:)
Beautifully designed!!!!
Is this her special Christmas card? I love that it brought back memories for her. That paper is beautiful. I love how you did the vellum circle to give it a soften look in that area. Beautiful.
Pretty pp. Of course I also like the dimensional poinsettia as well. And the repetition of the glitter is a wonderful touch as well... especially interesting in your version of the doily from the sketch. I so seldom think of using my dies to cut my "fancy" papers.
Oh, this is so beautiful. I love the pink poinsettias in your patterned paper. Your beautifully shaped poinsettia is the perfect match to the dark pinks in the paper. I love the stitched die cuts. I love the idea of punching a doily and then using a circle punch in the center to turn it into a frame. Why don't I think of things like that? I love the champagne glitter paper and I love the perfect little touches of vellum under the flower. Simply gorgeous card.
Oh my gracious girl, this card has the perfect WOW factor! It is so beautiful & the bg paper stunning. I love how you did the glitter paper behind to go with the die cut. Beautiful poinsettia too! Can you tell I LOVE this card? lol
This is my version of the November Card Sketch Challenge bonus sketch. I started by using a stitched rectangle die to cut my poinsettia paper by Wild Rose Studios. I also die cut and shaped a matching poinsettia. (Poinsettia die by Dee's Distinctively dies.) I then chose champagne colored Kaisercraft glitter cardstock which I die cut with a fancy scalloped die by Spellbinders and a circle die from YNS. I inserted a pale pink vellum circle inside the glittery scalloped die cut. I used my clear Wink of Stella brush marker to add shimmer to a piece of white vellum that I die cut using a Cheery Lynn holly flourish die and the leaves that come with the poinsettia die. I added some pink satin ribbon and a stamped sentiment.
For many years, my Mom decorated her living room at Christmas with a pallete of pink, burgundy and dark green. She had lots of pretty pink poinsettias and many special handmade decorations. She has always put so much care into making things look beautiful at Christmas. This paper and this card brings back memories from wonderful Christmases past.
Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement! I appreciate it more than I can say!
