This is my Layout for Scrapathon Week 10.
This year on Veterans day I had the Privalge to go to several events that honored our Heroes. These pictures are from that. The large Picture is of part of the newest monument in Oregon. It’s dedicated to all the soldiers who have fought in both the Iraq and Afghan conflicts. The other pictures are from the memorials dedication, The Parade we went to, and other memorials that we visited on Veterans day.

Journaling:
November 11th, 2006. Veteran’s Day. Everywhere we went people were honoring our soldiers past and present. At the parade people stood and applauded as the soldiers walked past. Many with tears in their eyes. There wasn’t a dry eye during the govenor’s speech at the dedication of the new memorial. Flags were flown with pride and we were all reminded of our friends and family- unsung Heroes all.

Poem:
There is a place
Where Truth prevails and justice stands,
Where courage is more than a word
And peace is more then a feeling.

There is a place
Where skies of blue shine brightly,
Where stars and stripes wave proudly;
A place to be a beacon of truth
And a tower of strength.

There is a place
We stand United when we fall to our knees
…One nation under God;
a place forever engraved upon our hearts,
more beautiful than words could ever tell.

There is a place we call
AMERICA.
